You might be wondering, “What’s with all the dragons?” Well, I was born in the Chinese Year of the Dragon, which is said to embody fire, courage, abundance, and all the good things in life. Dragons symbolise transformation, power, and wisdom. These are qualities that I strive to bring into my coaching. They’re also a reminder that we all have the fire within to create magic in our lives. So yes, my obsession with dragons runs deep, and they’re a perfect metaphor for the work we’ll do together.

Beyond coaching, I’m also a creative writer with an MA from Bath Spa University and a technical writer with expertise in software documentation (CMS for in-flight entertainment and online casino games). My diverse background allows me to approach challenges from multiple angles. I’ve worked as a translator, copywriter, ghostwriter, and editor. For over a decade, I was a long-distance runner, hitting the pavement to quiet my busy mind. Running started as a refuge, a way to escape the noise and find clarity. Somewhere along the way, I discovered that I could be really fast—if I trained hard enough. So, I poured myself into it, chasing personal bests and the rush of crossing finish lines.
Running became more than just a sport; it was an adventure. I turned marathons into a way of seeing the world, exploring new cities and routes through the lens of a runner. From the serene landscapes of Reykjavik and Loch Ness to the vibrant streets of Milan, Barcelona, and Kuala Lumpur, every race was a story, every course a memory. Marathon tourism showed me that you can experience life in unexpected and deeply personal ways.
When my progress plateaued, I found myself yearning for a bigger challenge. As a nutritionist, I am always conscious of fueling my body. Often, runners turn to candy and quick fixes, thinking they can outrun bad habits. I know better. It isn’t just about calories. It is about mental performance, emotional balance, and the bigger picture of health.
So, I took a leap into bodybuilding—a completely different world. Twice, I stepped onto the competition stage, spray-tanned and Barbie-like. That journey wasn’t just about sculpting my body. It was about facing my inner critic and learning to quiet its harsh voice. It taught me how to shift from relentless self-criticism to self-love.
Today, I carry my athletic mindset with me in everything I do. The discipline, the drive, the understanding that every step is progress. I still train regularly with a high-performance coach. Growth is a lifelong pursuit. Whether it’s running, lifting, or coaching, I feel that the strength we build inside carries us through every challenge life throws our way.
Those years of running and bodybuilding weren’t just about physical milestones. They were a masterclass in mindset, resilience, and transformation. I learned how to set clear goals, handle failure, and push through limits.
These lessons form the foundation of my coaching methodology. Whether I’m working with an entrepreneur building their business or guiding someone toward a healthier lifestyle, my approach is rooted in clarity, strategy, and sustainable growth.

I once worked with a client who wasn’t interested in health or fitness at all. She offered to be my challenge. We began small: walking home from work, adding protein to her smoothies, stabilising her sleep routine, and including kettlebell training into her schedule. It wasn’t about doing everything at once. It was about building small, manageable steps that fit into her life.
As we worked together, something unexpected happened. Her job, which had always been in the background, started to come up more and more. I realised it was affecting her health in ways we hadn’t addressed yet. She was stressed out, didn’t feel good, and was clinging to limiting beliefs that were holding her back from living fully.
I knew we needed to dig deeper. We took a step back from the physical health journey and started to look at her career and mindset. She was already working on a small business on the side, which she loved. Through our conversations, I helped her find the courage to leave her 9-to-5 job and focus on what truly lit her up.
This experience showed me the power of taking a holistic approach. I didn’t just see her as a client who needed help with fitness or nutrition. I saw her as a whole human being. By addressing her fears, mindset, and professional life alongside her health, she was able to make a breakthrough and take control of her life in ways she never imagined.
That’s the magic of seeing the bigger picture. When we embrace our whole selves—mind, body, and soul—that’s when real transformation happens.
Running has always been my mental reset. Whether it’s snowstorm or heatwave, hitting the roads and forest trails used to be essential to my physical and mental fitness. There’s something about the rhythm of my feet on the pavement that shifts my mindset. A long run is my best problem solver—no matter how complex the issue, I always find clarity on the trails. Over a decade, my hunger for longer and longer distances grew and I went from 10K to half-marathon and beyond. To date, I’ve completed 20 marathons (PB 3:15:29 in 2019), though I’ve started more than I’ve finished. Each race taught me lessons about defeat, the importance of listening to my body, and the true meaning of failure. A marathon doesn’t really start until after the 30 km mark. If you push too fast in the beginning, the pain comes crashing in around the 25 km mark, and from there, it’s all about surviving.
Bodybuilding became my other great love once I quit long-distance running. I still lift heavy today, but this sport, while rewarding, took a toll on my emotional health and body. After my second competition, I gained 15 kg in what felt like no time, as my body shifted into survival mode. While I’m not currently competing, I do plan to return to the stage when I’m in my 50s or maybe 40s. There are plenty of successful bodybuilders in my country who compete later in life, so I know that building the body is a long-term commitment. For now, I’m focused on progress, and just recently, I crushed all my lifting records while working with an amazing coach. It’s all about enjoying the journey and challenging myself every step of the way.
